Debunking Hair Colouring Myths
There are various myths surrounding hair colouring that may scare people from opting for it.
These myths can make you skeptical about colouring your hair and may feed your brain with false side effects. Therefore, here I'm busting the top 4 myths associated with hair colouring.
Myth 1: The colouring process takes an entire day.
Some people can be discouraged from colouring their hair because of the supposedly long time it takes for the colour to take effect.
Yes, it takes a bit of patience to ensure that the colour is applied evenly, but you won’t need to block your entire day or afternoon just to ensure that the finished product looks great.
It should only take about 30 minutes to apply the colour. In fact, most hair dyeing processes only last from 30 minutes to 2 hours!
Myth 2: At-home and salon hair colour is the same.
Depending on the brand, you may find that ingredients are frequently the same between certain at-home and professional hair colouring.
However, if you come to the salon, I will be able to mix a variety of colours to create a customized shade just for you.
And of course, you will also have a far better experience at the salon where I can easily reach all areas of your head and ensure that the colour develops perfectly.
Myth 3: The sun will not fade your hair colour.
You may think that hair colouring stays the same no matter what happens. However, just as it happens to your natural strands, the sun can lighten your dyed hair over time as well.
Protect your hair from sun damage by wearing a hat at the beach or when spending a lot of time in the sun.
Apply a sun-protective spray to your hair before heading outside can also help prevent fading.
Myth 4: Colouring will damage your hair.
This is one of the biggest myths and one that you all must have heard all the time. Colouring your hair can’t have an incredibly negative impact on your hair.
Still, there are many different options on the market for maintaining healthy hair whilst having fun with the colours.
I recommend using an organic, colour-safe shampoo, conditioner, and serum. By using a proper technique & aftercare then your hair will be just as soft and healthy as always!
